The Triad Group, a Hartland, Wisconsin medical products manufacturer, has filed for bankruptcy.
The company, which was shut down by federal regulators, faces several lawsuits related to allegedly defective alcohol wipes and swabs. The United States Food and Drug Administration claims that the products could contain Bacillus cereus, a bacterium which allegedly caused the deaths of several people.
The bankruptcy filing places the pending lawsuits against Triad on hold. Depending upon the company's assets, the plaintiffs in the lawsuits may recover nothing, or just a fraction of what they are claiming.
