Protest Over Death Of Derek Williams Ends In Four Arrests

Posted on

Since the release of the disturbing video showing Derek Williams in the back of a Milwaukee Police Department (“MPD”) squad car struggling to breathe and begging MPD officers for help in the minutes before he died, protesters have marched in Milwaukee every Sunday demanding accountability for Mr. Williams’ death. On Sunday, November 11, 2012, the protest ended with four people arrested. According to the MPD, four protesters were arrested for disorderly conduct after refusing police commands to move out of the street. Cell phonevideo of the protest, shows the protesters being arrested while on the sidewalk. For more information about the protest, and the ongoing investigation into the MPD, read the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel article.
