Cross Country Skier Falls Through Ice And Survives

On Tuesday, January 1, 2013, a 60-year-old man fell through the ice on Black River as he was cross country skiing from La Crosse to Galesville. The man became completely submerged in the frozen water, but was able to crawl out. ALa Crosse Tribune reporter found the man, and helped take him to the police. First responders then took the man to the Mayo Clinic Health System in La Crosse, where his condition is unknown. Read more about the story in the La Crosse Tribune.
