Sheriff Announces Task Force to Address Wrong-Way Driving

Posted on

As previously reported here, there has been an ongoing problem with wrong-way driving on Milwaukee County freeways. In response, the Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Department has announced the creation of a special task force to address the problem. Sheriff David Clarke contacted the State of Wisconsin Department of Transportation (“DOT”) requesting an expansion of the existing wrong-way driving program by improving signage and roadway markings at freeway entrance ramps. The DOT responded to the Sheriff’s request by proposing a Joint Milwaukee County Freeway Safety Task Force to address wrong-way driving and make other assessments regarding freeway safety. The task force will meet for the first time next week.
