Sliced Fruit Recalled over Salmonella Concern

Posted on

Oregon Freeze Dry, Inc. has issued a voluntary recall of approximately 60,000 cases of its Signature Real Sliced Fruit product. The company recalled the fruit over concerns that it may be contaminated with salmonella, which is a food poisoning illness that can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, senior citizens and people with weakened immune systems.

The recalled fruit is found exclusively at Costco Wholesale Stores, which has removed the product from its shelves. The affected products have “Best Before Dates” of between February 14, 2015 and March 11, 2015. Consumers who purchased the affected products may return them to the place of purchase for a full refund. For more information about the recall, call (888)-641-2933 on Monday through Friday between 6 AM and 3 PM Central Daylight Time.
