Don't Get Into An Automobile Accident In New Berlin
The City of New Berlin Common Council passed an amendment to the Fire Department fee schedule charging $500 to non-residents who get into a serious automobile accident requiring an ambulance to respond to the scene. The fee is similar to fees charged for ambulance services. The bill for the fee is sent to the at-fault driver's insurance company. New Berlin estimates this Ambulance Response fee could raise $25,000 in extra revenue for the city. Recovering this fee from an insurance company and understanding the ordinance are critical when handling the consequences of an automobile accident.
