SKS Files Notices Of Injury For Illegal Searches

Samster, Konkel & Safran, S.C. Milwaukee personal innjury attorney represents seven people who were subject to illegal searches, illegal strip searches and illegal body cavity searches conducted by the Milwaukee Police Department ("MPD"). As a first step in bringing claims against the City of Milwaukee and several MPD officers, we have filed Notices of Injury detailing the constitutional rights violations suffered by our clients. The Notices of Injury describe the illegal searches, and also allege that the MPD had inadequate policies with respect to training, supervision and discipline which caused the police officers to conduct the illegal searches. In addition, the Notices claim that the MPD allowed a "Code of Silence" to exist within the department, where police officers failed to report the misconduct of their fellow officers for fear of retaliation.
