Jury Announces Finding in Milwaukee Police Brutality Case

Posted on

In two separate cases, federal district court juries cleared two Milwaukee Police Department (“MPD”) Officers in civil rights cases.

In the first case, a jury determined that MPD Officer David Martinez did not violate David Boone’s civil rights when he fatally shot Mr. Boone in 2007. According to the MPD, Mr. Boone tried to grab Officer Martinez’s gun.

In the second case, a jury concluded that MPD Officer James Jekanoski did violate Robert Stokes’ civil rights. According to Mr. Stokes, Officer Jekanoski hit him in the head with a gun during a search of a suspected drug house.
