Milwaukee Police Officers Involved In Derek Williams Death Also Accused Of Illegal Search

Several Milwaukee Police Department (“MPD”) officers are under investigation for illegal strip searches and body cavity searches. Now the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel is reporting that two of the police officers accused of performing at least one of the illegal searches were involved in the death of Derek Williams. Officers Jeffrey Cline and Gregory Kuspa are named in the police reports regarding Mr. Williams’ death and in police reports regarding an illegal search.

As a result of the ongoing investigations into misconduct by MPD officers, the United States Department of Justice is considering a federal investigation into a possible pattern of civil rights violations within the MPD.
