On Wednesday, November 13, 2013, longtime Milwaukee radio personality Steve “The Homer” True sustained serious injuries in a car crash. The accident occurred around 10 A.M. near the corner of West Fond du Lac Avenue and West Hampton Avenue. According to authorities, Mr. True was heading east on Hampton when his vehicle was struck by a Cadillac traveling southeast on Fond du Lac. Police suspect that the driver of the Cadillac was drunk at the time of the accident, and it is reported that they arrested him for intoxicated use of a motor vehicle and causing great bodily harm. Mr. True was taken to Froedtert Hospital where he is listed in critical condition.

Mr. True is well-known to sports fans in Milwaukee. He is in his 20th season as the radio voice of the Marquette University basketball team. Marquette Vice President and Direct of Athletics Larry Williams said that “the entire Marquette University community is praying for Homer, his wife Nancy and his family this evening and we ask everyone do the same.”
